Contents
Per mL Tetracaine HCl 5 mg, benzalkonium Cl 0.1 mg
Indications/Uses
Local anesth for diagnostic or surgery.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tonometric & other procedure w/ short duration Instill 1 or 2 drops immediately before exam. Minor surgery procedure Instill 1 or 2 drops every 5-10 min or 1-3 times use. Long-term anesth Instill 1 or 2 drops every 5-10 min for 3-5 doses.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Concomitant use w/ other local anesth agents or sulfonamide.
Special Precautions
For external use only, not to be injected. For topical use in the eyes. Remove contact lens prior to instilling & not to be reused for at least 30 min. Do not touch the tip of dropper to avoid contamination. Avoid touching or rubbing eyes when anesth effects is in progress.
Adverse Reactions
Allergic reactions eg, short breath, breathing difficulties, skin redness, itching in facial, tongue & other parts of the body. Temporary symptoms ie, conjunctival stinging, burning, redness. Direct allergic effect in cornea w/ extent acute epithelial keratitis w/ filament formation &/or necrotic epithelium sloughing, diffuse stromal edema, descemelitis & iritis.
